Vashon Island Pet Protectors is pleased to announce a new venture following the necessary cancellation of the 2017 Fur Ball: an Online Auction full of the wonderful items usually featured at our annual event.
VIPP friends and volunteers have rallied to create this plan to help meet our fundraising goals and preserve the work we do on behalf of our furry friends. VIPP’s online auction will feature hundreds of auction items from extraordinary experiences to original one-of-a-kind art, and will help Vashon Island Pet Protectors in:
- Finding new homes for companion animals
- Spaying and neutering dogs and cats through low-cost programs
- Maintaining a clean and safe Cat Shelter while cats await adoption
- Providing a foster family program until permanent homes are found
- Microchipping animals to return lost pets quickly to their homes
VIPP’s Online Auction features many of the wonderful items and experiences our Fur Ball fans have come to love. Items include stunning art from Islanders such as Art Hansen, Pam Ingalls, Jean Emmons, Morgan Brig and many more! Experiences include a variety of adventures and vacations, from sunny Rancho Mirage and Oceanside, CA, to cozy forest getaways and visits to the Washington coast. The auction also includes favorite items that make life easy and good, including pet-lover gift baskets, exquisite wines, jewelry and clothing, and the ever-popular buy-it-now board and more.
The Vashon Island Pet Protectors’ Online Auction launches on November 10th and will run through December 3rd. VIPP will host a Preview Party on First Friday, November 3rd, featuring many of the artworks that will be available. The Preview Party will take place at the Fuller Store at the corner of Vashon Highway and Cemetery Road.
VIPP’s annual Fur Ball usually provides over $100,000 in revenue, approximately 40% of our total annual operating budget. VIPP has set a goal of $120,000 for 2017’s Online Auction and fundraising campaign. Islanders are invited to support VIPP in this time of serious need – you’ll be helping us care for and rescue hundreds of cats and dogs in the year to come.
On behalf of all the animals we help, VIPP invites Vashon to “Throw us a Bone” and support our efforts at this crucial time. Enjoy the artwork at First Friday, bid during the online auction, and donate. A chorus of meows and woofs and more will thank you.
